Jazz On The Point – High Wired NoNet will be performing at the South Beach Amphitheater 3568 SW 172nd. Enjoy from your home, South public beach or the water on the virtual log boom. Fixtures in Northwest jazz, HW N2 explore the piano duo format, featured at The Triple Door, Seamonster and Black Zia. Jacques Willis on percussion and Ryan Burns on keyboard will provide music and insightful commentary to start the weekend on a high note.

Street Closure - SW 172nd will be closed to thru traffic, residents and guests will have local access.
Community Breakfast * NEW LOCATION * will be hosted by Caroline and Alan Ellison at 3705 SW 171st with savory food prepared by a medley of local chefs. Enjoy wonderful food with 450 of your friends and neighbors. A great breakfast is just a walk away; the perfect way to start the day. Donations appreciated.
Book Swap, exchange last year’s books for new reading material in front of Carol and Mike’s home at 3324 SW 172nd. The no-host exchange table will be open all day so stop by early and often. Books on Tape, CDs and Kindles welcome. Please bring family friendly "recreational reading" paperbacks or hard back books only - no textbooks, technical manuals, old magazines, etc. Books remaining following the exchange will be offered to area shelters.
Flag Raising will be hosted by Darcy and Ken Peterson in their yard at 3750 SW 171st (same location as last year). This is a time to reflect on the meaning of the day: community, tradition and liberty. Expect to meet new neighbors, get an update on activities, see awards presented and witness the crowning of the new King and Queen of the Point. Ashley Fosberg and Andy Kleitsch will have a thought-provoking and slightly disturbing musical adaptation to share.
Children’s Parade will queue up at the conclusion of the flag raising on SW 171st and move east down SW 172nd. Children of all ages will form a patriotic procession of decorated bikes, wagons and strollers. Expect to see the newly crowned royalty leading the procession surveying their kingdom and loyal subjects. Otter Pops at the conclusion of the parade route are traditional; don’t stop before you get to Sue and Willie Wintermute’s at 2856 SW 172nd.
Carnival games test the skill and ability of children with prizes awarded to winners. The games are free and take place at the carnival grounds of Ronda and Greg Dill at 3568 SW 172nd; win prizes before and after hunting treasure.
Treasure Hunt on the beach at 3568 SW 172nd - slightly buried treasure goes to children who have sharp eyes, quick hands. This free event will start shortly after the bulk of the parade participants arrive at the carnival grounds.
The First Annual 3TP Red, White and Blue Corn Hole (bean bag toss) Tournament will be hosted by Emma Murrey and family at 3524 SW 172nd. There will be two brackets; 1) Family Fun and 2) Open Division for those with experience. Sign-up in advance by emailing email@example.com – provide your name, cell phone number and bracket choice. Brackets will be posted Sunday evening in front of the Murrey home, prizes for 1st and 2nd in each division.
Kayak & Paddleboard Parade – With required safety equipment and good weather it’s time to hit the water! Enjoy the day on the wet side of the Point, launch and gather off the south public beach around 3:30-3:45, and line up with fellow paddlers, bring a horn or other noise maker and/or decorate your boat to add to the festivities.
Grand Opening of the Dive Bar’s latest expansion…..”The Dive Barge”! Join Liz, Clark, Alex and neighbors for a cold beverage at their floating picnic table, anchored off the South Beach. Free valet parking for your paddleboard, kayak or floatie. There will be a nominal charge for yachts.
Live Music with the 3TP Blues Band playing power dance sets that will keep your feet moving – headlining at the South Beach Amphitheater, 3568 SW 172nd. The struggle to overcome growing up on the outskirts of Normandy Park has left an indelible imprint on their music; without even a B lot between them why wouldn’t they be playing the blues….. Ryan Burns keyboards, Andy Kleitsch vocals, Todd Anderson drums, Joe DelGreco bass, Jack Johnston lead guitar, Kathy Anderson backup vocals, plus: Chris & Michelle sound, Linda, Ben and special guests.
Tug and Barge arrive off the Point and are positioned for a great show by Western Fireworks.
